"Very good explanations. Feels like I'm a power user now."
"I'm conscious of not coming across too negatively about this course, but I was totally disappointed from this course and cannot understand any of the positive reviews. From 90 minutes course length, there is really only 6 minutes on editing - or should I better say how to select the videos from your library and put them on the timeline. 20 minutes is on finding the right music, i.e. watching Andy browsing epidemicsound. Another 20 minutes is on gear which IMHO has literally nothing to do with editing and another 20 minutes is on shooting three different locations, a topic which was already extensively covered in his first course."
"I really enjoyed getting an inside look into Andy’s process and got so much out of this lesson. The lesson style is engaging and also doesn’t feel rushed, which really worked for me. Left me feeling inspired to try out all the things I learned!"
"Andy's class was my first introduction into filmmaking classes, and I am not disappointed! I liked the simplicity and minimalism in the way he instructed, and how the lessons were carried out. I learned a lot, and will be making some short films this month to practice what I learned. I would only recommend his classes too experienced FCPX users tho, as for someone who is going in blind and looking for a guide, will struggle in understanding everything Andy does and explains. I have worked on FCPX for 2 years now so I did fine in catching everything Andy was throwing. But you definitely need to know how to use FCPX before taking these classes. Andy basically polishes your skills, he adds the finishing touch. Some may wish that Andy did more explaining behind each feature he used, but for a person like me who needs explanations to be "dumbed down", it was just the right amount of educating. So these classes are also great for those who simply want to make clean, stylized, and well put together videos for youtube or instagram. Those who are aiming for more advanced educating, these lessons won't provide that. But the pros heavily outweigh the cons here, just offering some honest critique :) Anybody who is looking to take the next step in their basic understanding of FCPX & mobile filmmaking should definitely check out Andy's class. It's worth it in my opinion. Would look forward to any future classes, thank you for the hard work put into these lessons and for the wisdom!"
"I’m a huge fan of Andy’s work and his minimalist storytelling-focused approach to filmmaking. IMO, he’s the GOAT, especially when it comes to editing - everything from creating sequences to finessing clips to connecting them with crazy transitions to using sound and visual effects that culminate into something epic almost every time. But after taking his first course, which was so epic and robust with details about how he shoots everything, I ended almost every section in this course feeling like, “What that’s it’?”. I’m not knocking this course because I definitely learned some new things and really appreciate Andy and Moment creating this course. I hope they make more. If anything I’m gassing up the first one because it was so well planned out and delivered - Andy took his time to explain, shared us his recipes about how he does different shots and gave tons of examples. It felt like we were on a journey together with him and we saw how it became his epic Japan video (still one of the best videos he’s ever created). I guess this is what made me buy the second course in a heart beat. But after completing the second one, I’m not sure I’d recommend someone to buy it for $75. I might ask them to check out his YouTube channel instead. That being said, I really hope this collaboration continues and there are more epic courses in the future."
